A private space for your family or close group — stories, passwords and more — that you run together and that lasts.
We call that group a fam. Only its members can see inside it, and they look after it together.

How it works
Step 1
Start a fam
A fam is one family or close group. The person who starts it becomes its first steward: a member who looks after the fam.
Step 2
Share one join link
Post the fam’s join link once, for example in your family group chat. Anyone who signs in through it asks to join, and a steward approves them. Nobody needs a personal invite.
Step 3
Share what matters
Members save stories, about-me entries and passwords, and choose who sees each one: just themselves, particular people, or the whole fam.
Built to last
A fam should outlive any one person, including the one who started it.
- Stewards share the work. A fam can have as many stewards as it likes, and famsecrets keeps reminding you while there is only one.
- Successors are named ahead of time. Each steward can name a member to follow them. If a steward dies or steps away, the others carry on, and the named successor is suggested first.
- The rules are written down, in plain words. Each fam has a constitution: a short set of rules, each with a one-sentence summary. Every change is announced to the fam and kept in its history.
- Help is there if no steward is left. Any member can ask us, and we appoint a new steward, normally the named successor or the person the fam asks for. We never read what is inside a fam.
